Happy Friday everyone! The Band of Locals - Buy Local First is always live on Friday mornings on SUNNY 97.3 with Steve and host Carlleen Rose. Assistant Principal of BRHS Jake Schumann sent us this week's Cardinal Shoutouts: Maiya Curtis and Kyrie Richards - turned in a wallet with $90 cash inside it and Olivia Beauchamp for helping a student in class that she didn't know very well. Thank you for being exemplary students and role models. Great job!

Our first guest was Officer Sell and he was here to talk about the Season of Giving Gift Drive Benefitting Eagle Village! Big Rapids Department of Public Safety wants to invite the community the this holiday gift drive which will take place on Saturday, December 11th from 9:00am - 12:00pm at 435 N. Michigan Ave. Santa and his "reindeer" Boomer will be there to accept your new and unwrapped donation and take pictures with! Let's help spread the holiday cheer and have some gifts to donate to benefit Eagle Village! Thank you Officer Sell for coming in and for all the work and positive impact you do for the community and our safety as well.

Our next guests were Voca Lyrica's Founding Artistic Director Ginny Kerwin and TrebleMakers Youth Choir's Conductor Katie McInnis. They were here to talk about their 21st Annual Holiday Concert: Cherish the Light. Enjoy Con Brio Voce Brass Quintet, TCAPS Central HS Vocal Majority TCAPS West SH Bell Canto and the TrebleMakers Youth Choir on Sunday, December 12th at one of their time slots for performances at 4pm and 7pm - at the Big Rapids High School Auditorium. Tickets are $12.50 for adults and $5 for preK-12th grade. Tickets are available to purchase at the The Old Pioneer Store and Emporium, Patterson's Flowers Inc., Purple Plum Fashions, from any Voca Lyrica Memeber and/or at the door. Voca Lyrica requests that all audience members wear a mask. We know this will be a wonderful show full of holiday cheer and beautiful sounds - make sure to check it out and support the fine arts in our community.
